- Dual Core CPU or better (AMD or Intel)
- 1 Gigabyte (or more) of RAM

- Clean install of Windows XP (Home or Professional Version) with Service Pack 3
Prepare your BGAN Terminal for use with your Notebook PC for use with VideoMoverPlus Send.
BGAN users:
This section is designed to help the evaluation of VideoMoverPlus with Inmarsat BGAN network.
Prepare your BGAN terminal:

Note : VidepMoverPlus software supports all BGAN terminals with Aero, Land and Maritime. 1. Call your air time provider and request a STATIC IP address. We mean PUBLIC STATIC IP.
2. Setup the terminal as "Modem Mode" not the "Router Mode". If using "Router Mode" then you must open port 8080. Insert the Static IP and configure the BGAN terminal for 128k, 256k, or 384k streaming class.
3. Attach the BGAN terminal to Notebook PC and verify that you have a Static IP Address. Use http://www.whatismyip.com and compare with your Static IP Address provided from your air time provider to the IP Address shown on the web page. If the IP Addresses are different then you aren't properly configured for a Static IP Address for your BGAN unit.
Prepare your Notebook PC for use with VideoMoverPlus Send:
Important: Do not use the office notebook used by eveybody or salesman notebook!.
Use a modern notebook with clean windows XP installation and applied SPs. Turn off the auto update, virus protection and do not load any bloatware. After you install VideoMoverPlus and test the system, you can add other software and bloatware if needed. 1. Make sure your Notebook PC is of a modern design with Dual Core CPU for best performance.
2. Verify that your Notebook PC has a minimum of 1 Gigabyte (or more) of RAM for best performance.
3. Verify that your Notebook PC has a clean installation of Windows XP with Service Pack 3 Patches applied - Windows XP home or Windows XP Professional versions are supported.
4. Windows Automatic Update MUST be turned off. You want maximum available speed when Streaming Live Video. If Windows Automatic Update is turned ON, then this can cause issues like:
- major slow downs when Streaming Live Video.
- unexpected behaviour like rebooting in the middle of Streaming Live Video after the Windows Update is done.
5. Other Programs such as Instant Messengers, GPS Location Software, Antivirus scanning, etc... can cause VideoMover Live Video Bandwidth issues and can cause VideoMover to not run properly due to High CPU usage.
6. Verify that FireWire port is available and in good working order.
7. Turn your Software Firewall off. Also, Turn off any software preventing your PC from streaming out via Internet.
8. If you intend to use CDMA / EVDO, then install the software that comes from your provider that matches the PCMCIA or USB Device used for the CDMA Network. Then follow any other setup instructions to quickly get your CDMA Device to work properly.
Prepare your Video Camera for use on your Notebook PC:

Note: Use any camera with FireWire as VideoMoverPlus software supports Microsoft DirectShow interface 1. If you want high quality video, then absolutely DO NOT use a webcam for video streaming. You can use a webcam to test the system.
2. Use a DVCAM such as any Sony DVCAM or any DVCAM.
3. * Optional * If you don't have a DVCAM, You may use an Analog Camera if you have the cables with RCA output from the camera hooked up to an RCA input using a USB device to convert the analog signals for use with VideoMover.

- USB Device interface information can be found via this link .
4. Install any software required for the operation of DVCAM with a PC. Drivers ONLY. Do not install extras. Most DVCAMs do not need any extra software to operate properly. They are "plug and play". Simply attach the FireWire cable from camera to Notebook PC's 1394 (FireWire) input and turn the camera on.
5. Go to your Desktop and double click on "My Computer" icon. You should see Live Video on your "My Computer" folder if your camera is connected and turned ON as well as if your Notebook PC has established connection from camera to your Notebook PC. If your Notebook PC is unable to communicate with the camera, then you must seek help to finish this step. VideoMover works very well when using the FireWire input connected to the FireWire output from the Video Camera connected to a Notebook PC.
Prepare your Desktop PC for the Receive Station.
1. Any desktop with minimum of 1 Gigabyte of RAM with Dual Core CPU is preferred.
2. Make sure your PC has a clean install of Windows XP with Service Pack 3.
3. Windows Automatic Update MUST be turned off. You want maximum available speed when to receive Live Video Streams. If Windows Automatic Update is turned ON, then this can cause issues like:
- major slow downs when receiving Live Video Streams.
- unexpected behaviour like rebooting in the middle of receiving Live Video Streams after the Windows Update is done.
4. Other Programs such as Instant Messengers, Antivirus scanning, etc... can cause internet Bandwidth issues and can cause Receive Software to not run properly due to High CPU usage.
5. Turn off any FireWall prohibiting traffic from Port 8080. You may have to open the port via your Router / Gateway to allow incoming Video on Port 8080.
6. Attach your Desktop PC to another BGAN with similar configuration - no static IP is required to receive the stream from BGAN or CDMA networks..
7. Attach your Desktop PC to a Local LAN or Cable/DSL or SDSL or any land based Internet access available in your area. Attaching to another BGAN unit should only be used as the last resort. We suggest any broadband access via landlines with no prohibition of ports open or any other limitations on internet web access.
8. If behind a firewall or router, Port 8080 must be open for both incoming and outgoing traffic (UDP and TCP/IP)

|
If you uncheck or check Video, Audio, or Script checkboxes as shown here - it WILL absolutely destroy our finely tuned "Compression" settings for Video Templates. This applies to ANY VideoMover setups for Live Video, Store and Forward Video, or Burst Video! . This is a bug and we are fixing it in next version free of charge. |
- A. You will need to select your Video (and / or Audio) device on all Video Templates except for the ones with "from File" in their descriptions.
- B. So select each Video Template, then select your Video (and / or Audio) Devices using the Combo Boxes. Then press the "Save" button on each one except for the last one which you will need to press the "Save and Exit" button.
Next, from the File Menu, then Configure, the Other Video Settings.
Repeat steps A and B above used on Live Video Templates. This option will set the video and audio devices for Store and Forward options.

Click on the screenshot above to show the change in a New Web Page. Next we pressed the "Save and Exit" button.
Next, Close the Admin Module Program.
4. Next double click on iLIVE Program, then select the proper "Alias" then select the "Satellite" Radio Button for the "Remote Unit Connection Type". This will bring up the Satellite IP Address use when connecting to your VideoMover Send Notebook PC. Don't press the "Connect" button yet since your Notebook PC isn't yet Streaming Live Video.
5. Now go to your Notebook PC and start the Live Video Streaming.
Note: Our video stream is compatible with Microsoft Media Player and you can use the Media Player to connect to the strea. Load Media Player (Version 9 and above) and click on File - Open URL and then on address bar type http://your static IP:8080
To minimize the delay, from TOOLS - OPTIONS - PERFORMANCE TAB :
Check Buffer (Radio Button) and enter 1 for seconds of content, then click on APPLY and OK.
Note: This option is already set in the iPlay.exe bundled (VideoMover Player) with the Broadcast Receive software.
How to Stream Live Video from your Notebook PC:
1. Make sure your BGAN is operational with Static IP assigned by your BGAN Air Time Provider.
2. Double click on the VideoMover Send ICON. This will launch the VideoMover Send Program. If the "Live Video" tab is not on top, press the "Live Video" tab. Next, select the desired BGAN Live Video Template. For our Test, choose "Live Template" of "BGAN 128K Streaming Class - No Audio *". Then with your Video Camera Connected and turned ON, Press the "Start Encoding" button.
3. If video flow is started, you should see "Live" Video from your connected camera in the "Video" box on the screen.
*** You are now Streaming Live Video! ***
Once you establisg connection, you can start playing with different templates. If using background IP, you may encounter BUFFERING at the receive station as the shared bandwidth of BGAN may fluctuate below 128k upstream at times causing BUFFERING at the receive end. We suggest using the STREAMING OPTION as it is optimized to stay within 119k-122k most of the time.
How to view the incoming stream in real time:
At the Desktop PC, Since the Notebook PC is Streaming "Live;" Video, now Press the "Connect" button in the iLive Program. This will connect to the "Live" Video Stream from your BGAN unit IF it is Streaming Live Video.
*** You are now viewing the "Live" Video Stream from your remote Notebook PC!
