Software by iPixCel today announced the release of ChaserView™ two-way conferencing software supporting HTC Pro and Treo Pocket PC series, if pre configured with Microsoft Mobile 6, 6.1 or 6.5. This new release although only supports two-way audio and video conferencing in gray scale (black & white), it will be supporting full color conferencing in mid May 2010.
For clients needing a Mobile 6, Mobile 6.1 or Mbile 6.5 solution for low latency, low bandwidth consumption conferencing over Inmarsat BGAN and or cellular networks, it is a perfect solution as it is an ultra portable solution and works great over fluctuating wireless networks, Ansari Software by iPixCel developer said. For example using a Sprint Network device such as HTC Pro equipped with EVDO network, the mobile user can make low latency two-way video and audio calls to another similar device or use the video conferencing software with Inmarsat BGAN WiFi - generated by any Inmarsat BGAN terminals. The reported latency for two-way audio and video over Inmarsat BGAN and Cellular networks benchmarking at 1.2 seconds end to end.

ChaserView's multi-layered codec with Sculpture™ video, black and white and full color support has a built-in PipeManager™ - an acronym for wireless bandwidth manager - allowing to use very little bandwidth and still produce great low latency two-way video and audio exchange, a "next generation" feature particularly suitable for Inmarsat BGAN users needing to watch their bandwidth consumption as the BGAN network unlike cellular wirless is very expensive to use. Using the PipeManager software suite, user can build a low bandwidth consumption profile such as 33.6 or 56k so the bandwidth consumption will never exceed the preconfigured amount, therefore resulting in tremendous savings of air time with no noticable degradation of video and audio quality. If used with Cellullar network, this feature can be extremely useful if the available wireless nework does not provide 3G quality as most areas in most metro locations are not yet adequately provisioned with full advertised rate of 300-500K up and downlinks. This new feature is not implemented in other competing products such as solutions offered by SayGus, iVISIT or other emerging products. Inherently, the H.264 or the garden variety (codecs off-shelf codecs) implemented in the offerings are not capable of bonding with low bandwidth ratio such as 14.4, 28.8, 33.6 or 56k as the compression ratio built with the H.264 will not allow exchange of video and audio - in real time- within above bandwidth ranges.
Working with Microsoft development team, ChaserView solution is offering a true next generation - multi-layered - codec capable of offering a low latency expereince over low bandwidth networks while using the solution with low powered Pocket PC CPUs.
The software is easy to load and is in familiar Microsoft .CAB format. It is easy to download and install and make call to a similar device. Similar testing on more Microsoft 6, 6 classic and 6.1 devices are underway and will be announced shortly.

Evaluation of iPixCell VideoMover plus video streaming software.
27 January 2010
Radio Holland South Africa was recently requested to demonstrate the VideoMover plus video streaming software for a security service client for services starting with the Soccer World Cup.
We contacted Software by iPixCel and requested a demo copy for one week and within a day we had an email back with a link to download the software, including the one week license. Included with this was the instruction to install the software. The instruction was easy to understand and concise. Within a short period of time we had the Send and Receive software, configuration and license installed.
We did however hit on one snag which was due to our own fault in reading the instructions properly. One call to the support staff at iPixCel sorted this out. The problem was that we typed in the IP address of the send station in abbreviated format but what is required is the full format including the htpp:// and also the 8080 port number at the end.
Once this was corrected we were up and running.
We had obtained a Fixed IP from out Service Provider and set up the Thrane Explorer BGan 700 into Modem mode
Then firstly we set up the Thrane Explorer 700 in the Background IP mode which is and tested the system without using the costly 256k streaming. This worked very well and we were pleased to be able to connect at 193kbps with a good picture quality. This would be because we ran the test in Johannesburg and probably had the use of the channel in the spot beam all to ourselves (low contention).
We then set up the Thrane Explorer 700 in 256k streaming mode. It is very easy to change over using the Thrane Web Interface on the Explorer 700 terminal and on the VideoMover plus just one drop down arrow click to change over. This worked very well with a noticeable improvement in picture quality and movement response.
Our client was impressed with the picture quality and has requested that we should do further demonstrations with the other BGAN equipment that they have access to.
